A few years ago I was lucky enough to be able to have afternoon tea at The Fairmont Empress in Victoria. I believe it was probably the most elegant tea I’ve attended, at least so far! Four of us girls spent the early part of our day touring the Craigdarroch Castle, which was just beautiful. Quite the history and wonderful furniture. We freshened up at our hotel and set out for tea, dressed and ready for our savories and our sweets.
The Fairmont was beautiful and was such a pleasure to relax in the comfortable lounge. We started with fresh strawberries, moved on to the wonderful tea, gorgeous sandwiches, scones and sweets. Everything was presented so elegantly. I think my favorite course was the scones with the jam and Devonshire cream.
After about two hours of lounging, eating and tea drinking we were all presented with a tin of the Empress special blend to take home with us. A nice touch to a wonderful day!
Tea at the Empress was a divine experience. Great photos, Laurie. This was a fun day!
