Mystery Plant – Ireland

Mystery plant? Sounds like fun! While in Ireland I noticed the following plant (in two beautiful colors) throughout our visit. I fell in love with it right away. I first spotted it at the Dublin Castle in the gardens and eagerly snapped away with my camera. Throughout our visit I asked a few locals what the plant was called, but it was a mystery.

Thanks to my niece J and her great Internet searching skills we decided it appears to be the Japanese spindle “green rocket” or “green spire”. Have yet to find the name of the pink/lavender version.

Seriously hope I run across this plant again someday!

Not sure which ones I like better, the green look so fresh and alive and the pink kind of mysterious.
