If you are looking for something fun to do this Fall may I suggest the Vulture Mine, just northwest of Phoenix, Arizona. Starting in October, the Vulture Mine offers a great tour for a small fee. Check out their website here for all the details.
I took so many photos on our tour that I thought I would post the buildings today and save some of the odds and ends for another day …
The tour was approximately two hours and we learned a lot about the history of the mine and present day mining efforts. The mine was established in 1866 and the town quickly rose to 5,000 residents. In 1942 the mine was shut down.
In the back of my mind I am always trying to snap a photograph that might have a ghostly orb in it! I don’t believe I got any in this day, but it definitely had an eerie feel to the place. Apparently Ghost Adventures filmed an episode there and it is on my list to watch!
I can just imagine the Mine bustling with brothels, a school, stores, hotels, dorms and bars.
My favorite photo of the day was this empty brothel that just felt like it was bustling with men and women, laughter and tears. I could almost hear it, or so I imagined.
fascinating captures!
