Polar Express

Last Fall, 2016, we took a trip up North to ride The Polar Express via the Grand Canyon Railroad.

Besides the horrible migraine I got on the way up there, most likely because of the elevation, it was a great time. We had dinner at a diner, had peppermint schnapps to put in our hot chocolate, got our tickets punched, got Christmas bells, heard the story and saw Santa Claus!

We had the whole diner to ourselves and the food was great, atmosphere was cute and good times…

The next day we we had breakfast in Williams, walked around some trains and stopped at The Flintstones before heading back home. We had a great time!

Mini Time Machine

One of my favorite places to visit in Tucson, Arizona is The Mini Time Machine.   If you like miniatures this is your place!  I went a few years ago and then again last Fall.   It seems like they have added more exhibits than the first time I visited.  They also have temporary exhibits which all look interesting.

The artwork is amazing and how they make those tiny little items is beyond me!

They have doll houses, themed rooms, holiday exhibits, and tiny furniture!

They have specially made doll houses, such as this teapot…

One of my favorites was is these ghosts in honor of Halloween …

Hellsgate Excursion, Oregon

Last Summer, when visiting friends in Klamath Falls we went on the Hellsgate Excursion.  It was a great time!   We had a great lunch, few drinks and got wet in the hot sun!   Good times.

If you look real close you can see the baby bird in the nest…

Beautiful houses…

A great lodge….great food and great drink and great friends!

Hopefully, we will make another Excursion next year!

Flintstones, Meet the Flintstones …

Yabba dabba doo!

Freddy Flinstone, You’re all heart and a yard wide – Wilma Flinstone

And what may I ask do you think you’re doing? – Fred Flintstone

Last year as we were going up to the Polar Express in Northern Arizona, we decided on the way home to stop at the Flinstone Land (Bedrock City) close to Williams.

I don’t remember what the price was to get in, but it wasn’t much.  The entrance was thru a gift shop full of cheap and expensive gifts.  Flintstone Land (pretty sure that’s not its actual name) was definitely something to see!  We really didn’t know what to think.  It has seen better days!

To be honest the colors in my pics have been computer enhanced a bit.  The paint on these were layers thick and quite dull. But, saying all that we had a great time discovering  the buildings and goofing around!

A few of our favorite characters …

Some unusual buildings…

Some oddities ….

A few photos I took specifically to show how creepy and great this place is all at the same time!

OMG, the best exhibit in this place below …  I literally ran out of this place screaming for Kara to come and see this!

I tried to turn some of the photos black and white to express a feeling, not really happy with them, but thought I would share a few here.   Any thoughts or feelings evoked is appreciated.

Check out for details.

Until tomorrow, LAF.
