Happy Sunday!  Life is Hard!

Life is hard!  It’s true, mentally, physically, financially, socially, you name it at times it is very difficult.   I always have a hard time with life at this time of year, it’s so hot here (Arizona), the heat goes on forever, I feel trapped in my home, car and office.  Thank God for air conditioning, but I yearn for cooler days.

Just like SAD in the northern region in winter I begin to get depressed and unmotivated in June when the heat rises.  Even when the possibility of going in a friends pool for the day sounds miserable due to the bath water temperature of the water!   It’s hard to believe that the constant heat can have such an effect on me!   I think what I miss the most is in the Summer I hardly take any photographs, which is an important part of my mental, physical and creative health!

So for today I will post some photos from a cooler day at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona.   The Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum is a 98-acre Zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum and art gallery founded in 1952.  It is truly someplace you can spend all day.

The view from one of the trails is beautiful and like a patchwork quilt …

The animals …

The frogs …

The flowers and Desert flora …

Here is to cooler days!   Come back soon for more pics from this wonderful place!

Summer Solstice

‘Solstice’ (Latin: ‘solstitium’) means ‘sun-stopping’. The point on the horizon where the sun appears to rise and set, stops and reverses direction after this day. On the solstice, the sun does not rise precisely in the east, but rises to the north of east and sets to the north of west, meaning it’s visible in the sky for a longer period of time.

I have been waiting a year to use this photo!  Haha. Taken last year at Cleveland Botanical Gardens in the Children’s Garden … My daughter and I spent the day at the Gardens and had a great day.

Happy Sunday and Happy Summer!

Until tomorrow, LAF

Traveling Teacups … Summertime Tea

This Summer the Traveling Teacup girls had an afternoon tea party hosted by Whateverislovelier. Check out her great blog to see how she put it all together here.

We had a great afternoon of iced tea (green and black), lots of food, photo booth with props, tea tasting of Tea of a Kind and laughs! We had a great time. We all bring something to munch on and try new recipes and teas.

The decor was amazing!

Photo-booth time!

I made white chocolate lemon cookies. The turned out pretty good. Below is the recipe if you like a nice lemon dessert.

One of the girls made the best redskinned potatoe salad. The went well with BBQ pork sliders, pasta salad, chips, veggies and dip.

Also during our tea we had a taste test of Tea of a Kind. We all gathered around to watch the Gizmo in action. Some of us liked the Ginger Peach the best, others the mint green tea. It was a nice addition to our party.

If you enjoyed this post take a look at one of our recent afternoon teas that was out of this world here.

I hope you enjoyed this lengthy peek into our afternoon tea parties!

Until next time, party on, LAF
